Robot Solves a Rubik’s Cube in Just Over a Second

Lucas Etter is the world record holder for solving a Rubik’s Cube in 4.904 seconds. This is crazy fast, even more so for us since we’ve never even completed one side of this puzzle our whole life. We actually have one in the office and it’s a great paper weight. Unfortunately for him, his record was just annihilated by a robot which solved a Rubik’s cube in 1.019 seconds. Guess this is another win for our future overlords.


Disney’s Real Wall-Climbing Robot

Meet VertiGo, a robot that can roll on the ground and climb up walls. Disney Research Zurick and ETH Zurich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology) utilized two tilting propellers that provide forward thrust to move this mobile robot on both horizontal vertical surface. Now make one big enough for a full size adult and take our money.
