Inflato Dumpster Offers Solution to Much Needed Space

The Department of Urban Betterment (DUB) of New York heed the desperate call to dwindling space in the crowded city of the Big Apple through the aptly named structure, Inflato Dumpster. The innovative solution provides public space in whichever community it’s parked in and the only cost is a dumpster permit. Occupying the length of three cars, Inflato’s base consists of a large dumpster typically seen in construction sites and the inflated membrane is made of biodegradable polyethylene and dual-sided mylar film. Since its inception in 2013, the 2000 cubic feet of space has served as a 3d printer workshop, a screening room, and a stage for a mini-concert.
