Minimalist Movie Posters Defined by Character Outfits

Movie posters are usually jam-packed with wild and noisy graphics but Frederico Birchal’s minimalist movie illustrations offer a fresh take on the unsung stars of some of the most iconic movies of all time: the costumes and props. The Brazilian graphic designer was inspired early on by the film and music industry and by the works of artistic greats like Andy Warhol, Keith Hering, and Norman Rockwell so it’s no surprise that his art revolves around the silver screen. Birchal’s light bulb moment came while watching ‘The Big Bang Theory’ when he realized certain TV personalities could be recognized and defined by how they dressed. From this came the ongoing collection of cleverly illustrated movie and tv character outfits set against a vibrant background spanning decades from The Tramp starring Charlie Chaplin circa 1915 to today’s most popular titles.
