Photographer Pimps Out Rides Using Nothing But Cardboard and Tape

Some people from Amsterdam were in for a surprise when they woke up to a ‘pimped out’ ride care of Max Siedentopf’s exercise in oxymoron with ‘Slapdash Supercars.” With masking tape on hand, the African-born photographer stealthily ‘upgraded’ run-of-the-mill vehicles in the dark of the night by slapping on custom-built cardboard body kits including fenders, wings, and even air scoops from Audis to Hyundais. The transformation is horrendous but absolutely slapstick funny given that Siedentopf’s intention was to ultimately bring a form of originality to other people’s property: “Individuality, self-expression, and status are more important than ever these days, But for some reason you see that things as ordinary as cars are getting personalized less and less, while it could be a strange but great form of self-expression. I thought I’d do people a favor by giving them a custom-made supercar.”
