Statues Display Epic Love Shared Between Two Lost Lovers

Georgian artist Tamar Kvesitadze creates a moving sculpture both in the literal and figurative sense of the word with ‘The Statue of Love.’ Based on the tragic love story of “Ali and Nino” where Ali, a Christian Georgian princess and Nino, a Muslim boy falls madly in love only to have Nino’s life cut short from defending his country. The 7 ton, 26 feet tall sculptures are located in the seaside city of Batumi in Georgia and can be seen inching towards each other every night at 7pm until they merge and completely pass right through each other for a mesmerizing depiction of love shared and lost between the two fictional characters.
