The Homeless Are the Stars in These Beautiful Portraits

In the eyes of many, the homeless has been reduced to just being parts of the background–they’re treated merely as elements on the streets. In the Underexposed photo series, photographer Aaron Draper aims to change that inhumane view. Inspired by the works of John Steinback (the author of the novels Of Mice and Men and Grapes of Wrath), he wanted to depict the homeless in a beautiful light. All Draper wants is for people to see the homeless as individuals much like you and me–he simply wants us to see them as people.
