This Rare and Exotic Honey Is the Bee’s Knees

For one month every year, giant Himalayan bees–the biggest bees in the world–come to collect nectar from a poisonous flower, giving the honey they make certain medicinal, aphrodisiac, and hallucinogenic properties. The rare and exotic honey and is the subject of this short documentary by Raphael Treza. The filmmaker met with a Nepalese tribe to learn more about the honey’s properties and how it’s used. Trivia: During the making of the film, the translator eats too much of the honey and falls unconscious. It’s most definitely an interesting watch.
