100 Drones Perform Amazing Light Show and Sets Guinness World Record

We’ve seen a few drones airborne at the same time for a Japanese commercial before but that’s peanuts compared to the Guinness World Record set earlier this year. At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas this January, microchip giant Intel featured a film of 100 drones performing a synchronized light show at an airport near Hamburg, Germany complete with a full orchestra performing Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony. The spectacular record-breaking event went down in the books as “Most Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) airborne simultaneously.” The swarm of drones blinking and lighting up in synchronous with the live orchestra made for an absolute dramatic effect and could pave the way for more digital light shows in the near future.
