8-Bit Illustrations Pop in Watercolors

Using a form he calls “hard-edge geometry,” New York artist Adam Lister combines soft-hued watercolors with pixelated, block-like 8-bit illustrations. The resulting character depictions lend a whole lot of old school video game attitude to a traditional painting form. Lister’s contemporary take on pop culture icons is an exciting reimaging.
