A Cotton-Candy World Created Entirely Through Microsoft Paint

Miranda Lorikeet creates images of an idyllic world where women frolic naked under cotton-candy skies all done with the most basic computer graphics program out there, MS Paint. The Sydney-based artist is an HR assistant by trade creating the whimsical illustrations purely as a hobby and spends hours developing the perfect sunset-inspired gradients. The series changes our perspective on how powerful the under-appreciated program could be in the creative hands of an artist where bright colors and simple backdrops evoke feelings of solitude in a forlorn sort of way. According to Lorikeet, “The drawings I make are meant to be like dreams that aren’t quite nightmares. The feeling you get when you see something beautiful but something about it isn’t quite right.”
