A Look at the ‘Smaller’ Population of New York

Brandon Stanton’s new book, Little Humans, proves the ‘smaller’ population of the Big Apple can be as colorful and fashionable as their bigger counterparts. A resident of New York himself, Stanton takes to the streets of the city and captures the big personalities of children with his camera, with the permission of their parents, for his Tumblog turned book. The former trader turned to photography after being laid off from the Chicago Trade Center and thought the idea of capturing the essence and the pulse of New York and posting it on a blog would be an interesting project to take on. Humans of New York shares portraits of completely, random strangers he’s asked to photograph and the stories they share with an equally completely and random stranger.
