A Novel Idea for the Standard Cubicle Farm

Sitting on our derriere all day inside a cubicle farm not only makes it harder to keep our guts in check but is also downright unhealthy. Dutch studio RAAAF introduces a project that takes the traditional standing desk concept to a whole other level. The End of Sitting is not just another art installation but rather more of a proposal to look for the possibilities. According to RAAAF’s Ronald Rietveld, “Our art installation isn’t an answer to the sitting problem, but is a radical proposal to make people aware, and to challenge them [to] start thinking in a different way about our working environment.” Comprised of what looks like miniature icebergs, the gentle slopes and angles offer different ways of getting comfortable thus making it more possible to squeeze in more movements throughout the day.
