An Unreal Foot Fetish

We’re pretty sure no other woman in the world has a shoe collection like Gwen Murphy’s. According to Gwen, “Since I was a very young child I have looked at shoes and found them looking back at me, each pair with its particular personality and facial expression. Mouths yawning open, they sometimes look sleepy, grouchy, or fierce.” The sculptor started the Foot Fetish series back in 2005 which features second hand shoes or those thrown away and transforms them into what she has always viewed them to be. The result looks like a pair of stoic, screaming, sleeping and sometimes grinning faces that look like they belonged there in the first place and the shoes was just an accessory.
