Artist Paints What City-Living Feels Like At Times
Amy Casey paints urban images that are far from the typical city skyline littering souvenir shops at tourist traps. The Ohio-based artist’s ongoing series called ‘Putting Down Roots’ is her take on celebrating her urban surroundings in Cleveland which sometimes reflects a sort of helplessness on her part with trying to keep up with the daily grind. Casey’s entangled structures and stacked high-rises is a surreal take on orderly chaos and her personal interpretation on the resilience of her city’s community.
