Artist Makes Garbage on the Streets as his Canvas

We’ve featured numerous artists converting discards headed to the landfill into various pieces of art but we’ve never seen anything quite like Francisco de Pájaro‘s garbage-turned-art before. Tagging each creation with his apropos statement ‘Art is Trash,’ the street artist prowls various urban jungles in the middle of the night and uses garbage left for pickup as his canvas. From a broken toilet turned into a dubious balding man to a couple of cardboard characters holding on to each other for dear life, Pájaro’s art fills the city with quirky characters that lets people see past the stink and ugliness of it all even if just for a passing second. New Yorkers can keep an eye out for one of Pájaro’s creations littering the streets of the Big Apple during his 2015 ‘Art is Trash’ tour.
