Artist Turns her Tiny Studio Into a Vision of Her Dreams

Jee Young Lee recreates a tangible version of her dreams and the products of her imagination using her 3 x 6 m studio as a canvas. For weeks and sometimes months, the Korean artist sets up her stage down to the tiniest detail using materials such as styrofoam, fans, cardboard, and paint in order to capture the best photograph without having to perform any post-editing to the final image. In the middle of the show stands Lee herself but never facing the camera as she wants the audience to focus on her vision, her frame of mind, and her quest for identity. The result is a materialized version of a surreal dreamscape by the highly perceptive artist.
