Dad Makes Lunchtime Special With Creative Illustrations

As a kid, finding a love note from mom or dad tucked away in your lunchbox is pretty special but it doesn’t garner the same cafeteria-cred that David Laferriere’s kids do. The father of two teenage boys started drawing on their sandwich bags back in 2008 and has been doing it everyday since and posting it on Flickr. Laferriere, an illustrator and graphic designer, loves drawing monsters, robots, birds and worms but family outings, a holiday, or even current events like the Olympics can be a source of inspiration. At other times, the sandwich itself may dictate the art of the day as a bubble hole on the bread can be used as a cloud or the lettuce sticking out of the sandwich could be the smoke coming out of a rocket.
