Drawings by Young Artists Turned into a Huggable Softie

Nowadays, children have access to everything, even a tangible version of their own imaginary friend thanks to Wendy Tsao. The founder of Child’s Own Studio handcrafts one-of-a-kind plush dolls called softies from each child’s unique drawings. Tsao’s inspiration came from her then 4-year-old son’s drawing of the same wide-eyed stick figure over and over again. She decided to turn his sketches into a reality and the excitement she saw in his eyes when he recognized his very own softie is exactly what made her turn her craft into a full-fledged business. To date, she has made approximately 400 softies and continues to make each little artist’s imagination come true. (Above: CJ, Age 4)
