Duo Makes It Rain Umbrellas at the 2015 Helsinki Design Week

As part of Helsinki Design Week, the largest design festival in Scandinavia, environmental artist Kaisa Berry and creative director Timo Berry of BOTH made it rain umbrellas inside Ahead Arena at the 2015 Habitare Design Fair in Finland. Created under the theme ‘Breaking Free,’ the art installation hovered over the main stage and consisted of 1000 white umbrellas in varying levels where streaming light exposed each one’s blue and purple hues to create an ethereal cloud-like effect. Serving as the anchor for the massive space, the incredibly whimsical canopy served as the perfect backdrop for speakers and live performances throughout the week.
