Hotel Suite Made Entirely by a 3D Printer
We’ve featured 3D-printing from sculptures to edgy, designer shoes but what Lewis Yakich has started takes the cake when it comes to innovation. The former engineer and owner of the Lewis Grand Hotel in the Philippines has provided the opportunity for Andrey Rudenko and his team to create the first commercial structure to be built using a 3D concrete printing technology. After months of planning and building the equipment, the 1500 sq ft expansion to the hotel took 100 hours to complete and features 2 bedrooms, a living room, and a 3d printed Jacuzzi. Once the suite is installed, it will be the world’s first fully permitted 3D-printed operational commercial building.
