Iconic Helmets Reworked in the Digital Arena

Justin Maller applies a digital makeover to some iconic pop culture helmets with his latest project Helmetica. Each image features a vivid palette and a stunning and streamlined design that makes for a futuristic remake of some classic helmets such as those of Darth Vader, Halo’s Master Chief, and Megatron. The Aussie and Brooklyn-based freelance illustrator has collaborated with big name companies such as Nike, Verizon, and ESPN among others and is the co-founder of the international digital art collective DepthCore. Recently, Maller took on a project he calls ‘Facets’ where he created a unique digital image per day for a whole year ranging from technicolor animals to the gloriously abstract, some of which are featured below. The complete collection of the year long project is available for download from the app store for just $.99 while prints can be ordered from his shop.
