If Looks Could Kill

Brian M. Viveros’ realistic portraits of women channel seduction, defiance, and hard knock all rolled into one. The California-based painter’s depiction of females with a ‘come hitherto’ look in their eyes, the ubiquitous cigarette between their lips while sporting bloody knuckles could leave a few people confused. But the sultry look behind the heavy eye makeup has become the signature style of the internationally recognized artist whose work has been featured in countless prints, exhibitions, and more recently, tattoos as featured on the show ‘LA Ink.’ Using oil, airbrush, acrylic, and ink, Viveros’ technical ferocity is exhibited in his ability to evoke power and sexiness through one look by the femme-fatales of his paintings.
