Jeweler Stumbles Into Becoming Proficient Pencil Carver

Tom Lynall came into his art serendipitously as he sat in his workshop, picked up a pencil and thought he’d try carving a heart on its tip. Several months later, he’s found himself hooked and has since carved landscapes and even pop culture icons into the sides and gaping holes of the fragile and delicate graphite. A professional jeweler by trade, the UK-based artist brings his meticulous skills and detailed touch using a scalpel blade and some customized pins to create the amazingly intricate mini sculptures.
