Keeping the Hope Alive That Samurai Jack Will Come Back to His Adoring Fans
Genndy Tartakovsky’s Samurai Jack may have been off the air for more than a decade now but talks about reliving one of the greatest animation series to hit the airwaves is not off the table yet. Though the animation director and lifelong comic book fan has been busy creating movies such as Hotel Transylvania and its sequel, he definitely sees the possibility of bringing Samurai Jack back to its adoring fans. According to an interview by Tech Times: “I would love to finish the story of Samurai Jack. I feel like people are still kind of interested in it, and it’s nice that after all these years, people are still responding to it, like two generations down almost from it being on the air for the first time. I know the conclusion in my head now. I’ve worked it out, and so I’m trying to find what the perfect vehicle for that is.” The cult classic is best known for its minimalist design and incredible visual foreshadowing done mainly through still moments, sound effects and scene to scene transitions. Tartakovsky’s storytelling skills and his ability to build excitement through mesmerizing visuals makes the Samurai Jack series a must-have in anybody’s collection but in the meantime, it’s nice to relive the artfully created cartoon to keep the hope alive.
