Keys Make a Prominent Display at the 2015 Venice Art Biennale

Keys are possibly one of the most underrated objects in our everyday lives but in retrospect, it opens the doors to everything. Chiharu Shiota creates a vivid installation of 50,000 collected keys strung together with bright red yarn showering two weathered boats aptly named ‘The Key in the Hand.’ The Japanese artist aims to trigger recollections and shared nostalgia between the givers of the keys and the viewers who comes to get immersed in her art with the massive labyrinth of intertwined keys. The display will be on exhibit at the Japan Pavilion at the Venice Art Biennale in Venice, Italy through Nov 22.
