Little Flag May Just Ward Off Those Pesky Time-Suckers

Coworkers who think you have the time to listen to them yap for an hour about absolutely nothing you care about is almost as annoying as bad coffee in the breakroom. Enter Luxafor, a tiny LED flag that attaches to your laptop to let people know when you are free to chat or too busy to even look their direction. The light turns red when you’re working on productivity apps and acts as a ‘do not disturb’ sign and green when you’re simply browsing the internet and are free to talk. Kristians Licis of GreyNut, cofounder of Luxafor, tested the two scenarios at his own open office and according to him, “At first, people didn’t know that they needed to respect the red light, but after some two or three days and some explanation, they started to came and ask questions only when green light was on. Then we understood that we had something.” View the company’s Kickstarter page for more details on their crowd-funding progress.
