Magnified Seawater Drop Reveals Marine Ecosystem

After seeing this amazing photograph by David Littschwager, you might just give in and buy that home water filter. Littschwager shot a single drop of seawater from off Kona while aboard the NOAA Ship Oscar Elton Sette. He then magnified it 25 times to reveal the marine micro fauna of crab larva, diatoms, bacteria, fish eggs, zooplankton and even worms. The vast ecosystem is colorful and varied and in every single drop of water.
