Massive Interactive Sculpture Takes Over Museum

Henrique Oliveira’s ‘transarquitetonica’ currently showing at the Museum of Contemporary Art, University of São Paulo is the biggest installation the Brazilian artist has undertaken to date. The massive structure looks like a fallen dead tree but is actually made from various recycled materials. The interactive sculpture invites visitors to literally get lost inside of it as different chambers lead them to different routes where the walls segue from wooden to dirt to brick. The idea behind the massive piece is to take the onlooker through the evolution of shelter from wooden huts, to houses with dirt walls, to the modern brick and concrete houses we see today.

To see another massive installation of creepy crawlies, try Rafael Gomezbarros’ Casa de Tomada.
