McDonalds Use Fashion to Launch Brand New Packaging
McDonalds jumps on the bandwagon as part of the recent movement by fast food chains to keep their brand’s image current. To launch the change with a bang, the burger giant is putting a fashion spin on it by enlisting the help of Miami University of Art and Design student Pablo Machado and alumni Ricardo Hardouin. The duo were given 48 hours to create fashionable accessories versatile enough to be paired with any outfit using the brand’s new packaging along with some eye-catching extras like rhinestones and pearls. Using a total of 50 bags, 72 straws, 22 cups and 8 sandwich boxses, the collection features an assortment of bags and purses, a pair of spiked shoes, and a sun hat. According to Matt Biespiel, senior director of Global Marketing for Mickey D’s: “Every day 69 million customers visit McDonald’s around the world and this new packaging will be a noticeable change. It was fun to join these ideas together and create playful pieces that connect our customers to the Brand.”
