Paige Smith’s Transformative Crystallized City Art

In her grassroots attempt to transform everyday urban decay into something for people to pause and look at, Los Angeles artist Paige Smith places small crystallized geodes in between bricks, drain grates and other unexpected places. Using either spray paint on paper or silicon-molded resin, she creates patterns of minerals to add beauty to the blemishes of cities in Los Angeles, Istanbul, Bali, and throughout the world.
