Photographs Give Humanity to Elderly Animals

As our society grows older, we are forced to confront our own mortality and consider what it means to age gracefully. Isa Leshko approach to this meditation is to photograph aging animals in her series Elderly Animals. Some of the farm animals were rescued from factory farms while others are simple succumbing to time’s final hours. In all instances, the black and while images are heartfelt and respectful. You can tell that Leshko wanted to celebrate her subjects instead of pity them.
