Rock Climbing Turned Into a Video Game Experience
Climbing anything can be intimidating especially when faced with a wall that bulges out all over the place in unfriendly directions. Jon Cheng is offering an awesome incentive to try it out at Brooklyn Boulders Somerville by way of instant gratification via a revolutionary application that lets players star in their own video game called Time Trial. The owner of the coding company Randori took his rock-climbing hobby and added a level of interactivity between climbers and the wall with rocks that lit up and chimed when touched. The goal is to touch all the trigger points projected in different spots on the wall in order to stop the timer and the person in the group with the fastest time is the winner. Not surprisingly, gyms all over the place want a piece of Cheng’s genius implemented in their facility.
