Safety Net Art Installation Lets Grownups In On the Fun

Design collective Numen/For Use creates a cargo net sculpture much like what we expect to see in a jungle gym except that it’s totally normal to see a grownup climbing in it. Built inside Austria’s Innsbruck Gallery, a space known for hosting interactive installation art, ‘Tube‘ is composed of safety nets held up by elastic strings spanning multiple levels of the gallery. The pathways lead through open spaces between levels, circle around columns and sometimes lead to dead ends leaving visitors to find another way out of the snaking mesh maze. The structural support provided by the numerous elastic strings makes it possible for ‘Tube’s’ reusability as it can adapt to any gallery space. The installation will be open for the public to explore until October 10.
