Snow Playground Give Kids Another Reason to Love Snow Days

Christian Strömqvist and Karl-Johan Ekeroth of PinPin Studio create a snow playground for the winter festival in Kiruna, Sweden that provides yet another reason to love the fluffy stuff. In partnership with ICE HOTEL and others, the Swedish design studio created a maze with ten foot walls, two slides, a massive snow lantern, four egg-shaped seats and ice benches. Made from hard-packed snow and ice harvested from the Torne River, the maze features 4 walls in the middle that lets the light shine through the crystal clear ice adding a depth of beauty and confusion to navigating through. Two large snow hills define the space and serve as the peak for side-by-side icy slides that lets the the young and the young at heart race down.
