Stunning Photos of Darwin’s Pigeons by Richard Bailey

People normally think of pigeons as pests. To Richard Bailey, however, these birds are worthy of being immortalized. The British photographer shot some stunning pictures of a variety of pigeons ranging from the common American Show Racer to the lesser known Voorburg Crooper. The series is called “Darwin’s Pigeons” and as its namesake suggests, it pays homage to the fascination of Charles Darwin with cross-breeding the species. The photo shoot took place in a professional studio where Bailey was able to capture all the glory of each bird’s head crest, plumes and of course, their photogenic side.
