Sweden’s Enchanting ICE HOTEL
For those seeking a lodging experience and an attraction unlike any other, and we’re not talking about a creepy B&B, the Ice Hotel is the perfect venue. Located in Jukkasjärvi, a small village in Northern Sweden, the unique hotel is the first and largest hotel of its kind. Built out of 1,000 tons of Torne River ice and 30,000 tons of ‘snice’ (snow and ice), guests are treated to a nippy climate of 23 degrees Fahrenheit where snuggling takes place on a thick mattress and reindeer skins atop a block of ice. The hotel sees an average of 50,000 visitors between the months they are open from December to mid-April while the months in between are spent freezing more ice and designing a new theme for the next Winter season.
