Sweet Dog Portraits Show the Softer Side of “Bully Breeds”

Photographer Douglas Sonders wants people to know that not all pit bulls, Rottweilers and boxers are mean dogs. In fact, his series, Not a Bully, lovingly portrays these dogs in ways that show the softer side of their personalities. Because of their rough reputation, so-called “bully breeds” are more likely to lose their lives in shelters instead of being adopted. Sonders’ portraits do their part to offer a convincing visual for how sweet and tender these potential pets can be.
