Swing Time by Howeler and Yoon
A pop-up park right between the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center and D Street becomes the temporary sight for an interactive playscape by Höweler + Yoon Architecture. Situated on a 2.7 acre space, Swing Time invites the community to come out and play in any of the 3 different shaped, 20 illuminated ring-shaped swings. An internal accelerometer senses when a swing is not in use and emits a soft, white glow and changes into a brighter, purple color when the swing is in motion. The glowing rings of the urban installation is a sight to behold at night and is in ‘full swing’ until October 31st.
