The Alien Fairies of Cedric Laquieze

When you think of the word fairy, the image of a young beautiful woman with gossamer wings clad in dew drops radiating magic usually comes to mind. Amsterdam-based artist Cedric Laquieze imagines them in a different way. Using insect parts from different species, he constructed miniature fairy statues for his series called Fairies, duh. The end result is a very detailed and more intriguing vision of these storybook creatures that look a lot more otherworldly than what is featured in a Disney movie.
