Hanami is the Japanese custom of flower viewing. The flower is almost always the cherry blossom or sakura. The sakura bloom from the end of March to early May and each year the weather bureau announces the sakura zensen or blossom forecast. Viewings consist of an outdoor party beneath the sakura either in the day or at night. These pictures feature the best images of a phenomenon that last only a week or two.
