You’ll have to hold your tongue before complaining about traffic in your area after seeing this time-lapse video of the Meskel Square in the city of Addis Ababa in Ethiopia. Despite being a major hotspot for public gatherings, demonstrations and festivals, Meskel Square doesn’t have any traffic lights or traffic controllers. Vehicles and pedestrians do their best to navigate the busy intersection themselves. It’s not surprising that between 2004-06, the intersection was the site of 237 major accidents.
