Tony Hawk Rides a REAL Hoverboard

If you caught sight of Tony Hawk riding the hoverboard here, chances are, you had a good laugh and moved on. This time around, it’s the real deal and though it’s still in its infancy, we are all that much closer to pulling a Marty Mcfly. California-based startup Arx Pax launched a Kickstarter campaign for the Hendo Hoverboard, a souped-up skateboard that literally floats about an inch off the ground. CEO and co-founder Greg “Hendo” Henderson’s patented magnetic field architecture (MFA) technology uses electromagnetic energy to repel away from conductive surfaces such as the copper sheeting ramp seen on Hawk’s demo. The completion date is set for October 21, 2015 and for $10k, you can brag to be one of the first to hold a piece of the future in your hands.
