Toy Animals Carry Civilizations

With the earth quite literally on their shoulders, this back-to-front Noah’s Ark-like exhibition by artist Maico Akiba sees a slew of toy beasts burdened by the modern world. Entitled SEKAI, the collection includes dinosaurs, bears and even a poor tortoise struggling under the weight of tall trees and telephone poles, a clear comment and compelling comment of how it’s all too often nature that bears the brunt of our excess.
