Vertical Dancers Take Over Oakland City Hall
Aerial acrobatics abound in the vertical dance performed by Amelia Rudolph and Roel Seeber in “Waltz on the Walls of City Hall.” Suspended on the side of Oakland City’s Hall, the two dancers from the innovative Bandaloop dance company amaze with gravity-defying moves that made heads spin last month at the Art + Soul Festival in California. Performing moves impossible to do on a stage, the pair effortlessly glide, spin, and perform Matrix-like movements in synchrony held only by ropes. Making the world their stage, the daring duo display incredible grace and agility while sharing fun and giggles documented by a GoPro camera worn by Rudolph.
