Vintage Photos From the 1950s Offer a Rare Glimpse of Everyday Life in NYC

For almost half a century, Frank Larson’s photographs of New York City sat undeveloped in an attic until his son’s widow unearthed them back in 2009. The late photographer’s passion for photography brought him all over the Big Apple capturing everyday city life using a photojournalistic approach and his Rolleiflex Automat Model 4 camera. The black-and-white collection shows New York in an era when things were a lot different but yet the grandeur and liveliness of the ‘city that never sleeps’ resonates loud and clear through these rare snapshots. Check out the site that Larson’s grandson, Soren, built around his grandfather’s legacy on franklarsonphotos.com.
