Wood Sculptures That Look Anything But

In an incredible feat of mimicry, Matt Johnson bends and carves wood to create some incredibly realistic impersonations of mundane objects. Simply named “Wood Sculptures,” easily discarded items used in construction sites are replicated and immortalized in a fragile stasis, frozen in a state of imbalance. From the cardboard box holes to each styrofoam bead, Johnson’s attention to detail and recreation using wood is impeccable. The collection is on display at New York’s 303 Gallery until February 25, 2017.
