Zaha Hadid’s Majestic 5th Tower in Macau’s City of Dreams

Under construction since 2013, Zaha Hadid’s concept for the 5th hotel tower in Macau’s City of Dreams is already gaining attention for its standout design. Owned by Melco Crown Entertainment, The City of Dreams project in Macau, China is a leisure hub where entertainment, gaming, shopping, fine dining and world-class accomodations can be found. Hadid’s 40 storey monolithic tower sports a unique exoskeleton that not only looks pretty, but serves the important purpose of reducing the internal structure requirements of the hotel’s internal layout. The hotel is made up of two towers joined by the atrium, roof, and bridges connecting through the voids in the center of the armored facade. The hotel will feature approximately 780 guest rooms (including sprawling suites and sky villas), several gaming rooms, atriums, restaurants, a spa and sky pool and is set to complete in 2017.
