Adorable (and Disturbing) Reinterpretations of Predators and Their Preys

Alex Solis reinterprets the reality of the food chain into cute wide-eyed animal illustrations that leaves us feeling a little uneasy. The Chicago-based illustrator, who goes by the moniker alexmdc, creates an ongoing series of disturbing illustrations in Predator vs. Prey where apathetic preys display none-the-wiser smiles as their bodies are gnawed on by their equally adorable, wide-eyed predator. Although it’s odd to say how these colorful images of doe-eyed, grinning wildlife are a bit on the nightmarish side, we think it’s safe to say these compositions definitely don’t line up with what we’ve seen on the National Geographic Channel.
