Animated Characters Reinterpreted as Villains

Dan Luvisi reimagines beloved animated characters and turns them into grimy, twisted, hideous personas that may have just scarred us of our fondest memories from childhood forever. For some, Luvisi takes violent movies and features the cartoon personalities as the stars, such as Kermit the Frog as Ryan Gosling’s character in Drive or The Muppets in No Country for Old Men. For some of the images, he penned detailed back-stories setting up the redefined characters in their new roles on his blog. The California-based conceptual artist and writer has worked for mega companies such as Hasbro, DC Comics, 20th Century FOX, and Microsoft and currently has a graphic novel out called Last Man Standing: Killbook of a Bounty Hunter. Following soon in its footsteps will be the collection of prints featured here and will be titled after the “Popped Culture” series.
