Artist Captures the Feeling of Abandonment of Nature

Isaac Cordal‘s project Cement Eclipses is an ongoing series that spans the world. It’s known for the placement of cement figures in public places. This particular set from 2013 features skeletal figurines in Chiapas, Mexico. The scenes seem to depict mourning or despair and a feeling of man’s disconnection from nature. As he states on his site, “Cement Eclipses” is a critical definition of our behavior as a social mass. The art work intends to catch the attention on our devalued relation with the nature through a critical look to the collateral effects of our evolution.
